Thank you very much for an in-dept and very concise review! We both appreciate the time an effort you’ve put into listening to our music and the fair & honest writing to cap it off. It takes a brave & music loving person to subjectively & objectively see music that most people in the west cannot connect with or understand(out mind out of sight). We hope to somehow come across your eloquent & honest writing in the future…… Kind regards “Los Chicharrons”.

The legacy of 70s Soul and Funk in America is dead and gone. Sly, Funkadelic, James Brown, Slave, Fatback Band, Gap Band, Tower of Power, et al, only live on as samples on simulated musicmakers like Kanye West and the modern tribe. To this old man, simulated funk is about as satisfying as simulated sex.

Fortunately, even as it’s (mostly) gone from our airwaves and media conscious, it is alive in the soul of Africa, wherever that may be (even if it resides in a expatriates from the cold North or tropical South). Hail, Los Chicharrons! No doubt your magic moves booty across 4 oceans and 7 continents! I love you guys!
